Chalice Well in Glastonbury, Sacred Site.
A sacred site is a place that is thought of sacred or holy.
Many people make a special visit to a sacred site. This is called a pilgrimage. A person who travels on pilgrimage is called a “pilgrim”.
Human history has sought to honour the divine, the mysterious, the supernatural or the extraordinary in some way. Most often this happens at sacred sites – special places where the physical world seems to meet the spiritual world. These might be awe-inspiring natural places, sites connected to a god, a saint, a hero or an energy. These are places where miracles or visions have been reported or buildings consecrated for worship or ritual.
Very often, buildings have been made on natural sites that were already thought of as sacred. For example, a spring of water coming from the ground might be said to have healing powers. A special well house might be built around the spring to protect it and as a place where people might leave offerings (gifts to a god). Other sites are thought of as sacred because a holy person or saint lived there or died there or their body is kept there.
Sacred sites remain spiritually meaningful to millions. You don’t have to be a believer to recognize that holy places, religious architecture, and sacred art are some of the most beautiful and interesting sights you’ll encounter in your travels.
You can find all over the planet sacred sites. In Greece there are many. I have been exploring and going to these sites for many years now.
One of my favourite sacred sites of all is in the United Kingdom, in a town called Glastonbury, Somerset.
CHALICE WELL in Glastonbury.
Is a magical and healing place, situated on the gardens of the Chalice Well.
On this site the Michael and Mary Leylines intersect and form an intense vortex.
The energy here is very strong, but at the same time soft and healing, the sign on the well is the Vesica Pisces – Sacred Geometry.T.
This place do possess extraordinary powers, the Chalice Well s is a place of pilgrimage.
Christian mythology suggests that Chalice Well marks the site where Joseph of Arimathea placed the chalice that had caught the drops of Christ’s blood at the Crucifixion, linking the Well to the wealth of speculation surrounding the existence of the Holy Grail. The red of the water is also said by some Christians to represent the rusty iron nails used at the Crucifixion. Frequent events are held in the grounds of Chalice Well including annual celebrations for the winter and summer solstices, World Peace Day, Easter, Michaelmas and Samhain.
In recent years it has been found to be naturally radioactive. The water flows from this well a rate of 25,000 (UK) gallons per day even in a drought.
When you are there, there is something you have to do. You have to drink the water from the well, it is a must. You always see people taking hundreds of bottles of water, with the belief that they will be healed, and by the way many miraculous healing had happen.
There are 2 different sources of water 1 is the “red spring” coming out of the chalice well (feminine energy) and the “white spring” (masculine energy) coming out from underneath St. Michaels Tor.
I do drink the water every time I go there….Which one I drink? …Aaaahhh that is the secret, and I will tell you now. What you should do is to mix in an empty bottle, water from both springs in equal quantities. This way you will balance between masculine and feminine energy.
