Long and lean silhouettes take center stage in the Diesel Black Gold Fall/Winter 2017 collection. The lineup looks with nostalgia to fashion past. An early Nineties’ sensibility generates a new urban attitude.
Authentic familiar codes are deconstructed and reconstructed for a new repurposed look. Proportions are altered and functions are changed. A biker jacket becomes an elongated shearling coat, turns into a leather trench or into a front zipper maxi skirt. Sartorial staples become a trouser skirt, as well as a pinafore dress.
Maxi knitted turtleneck dresses define the overall elongated silhouette. They are layered under revisited urban icons. Deconstructed sweater elements run through the collection as rib knit detachable collars, sleeves, cuffs, shrugs and gloves.
Fabrics are borrowed from a man’s wardrobe. Pinstriped suiting wool, Prince of Wales, corduroy and denim come juxtaposed with lacquered shearling and embroidered sequins.
Dungarees and jeans’ details inform the fluid maxi dresses. Foulard and cravat micro geometric prints are cut and combined.
Denim gets a sartorial makeover when paired with suiting fabrics or enriched with shearling trims. Wide-legged slouchy jeans also come in a mix of raw and washed denim.
Leather and suede sneakers keep the girls grounded on the earth, while skinny belts put the focus on the waist.
