Recently I arrived to Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada while in transit to México, I was very surprised to find art everywhere
This Airport is more than just a gateway to the world – it’s a cultural hub. You can look around and take in their extensive art and exhibition program, and exploring the terminals can be a real adventure.
In 2000, Toronto Pearson asked artists from around the world to create works that represent Toronto’s role as a gateway to North American air travel, while capturing the essence of flight. More than 300 incredible submissions were received, and eight were selected as permanent installations.
It was fun and interesting to be in that airport, we were looking at art, taking photos and having a good time. Brilliant idea, I hope other countries copy Toronto airport approach to art.
