Greek Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis met in Jerusalem, with entrepreneur and Chairman of Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP) Erel Margalit, one of the world’s leading cyber investors. The meeting took place within the framework of his Official Visit to Israel, and comes against a background of many cyber-attacks on Greek sites and companies, and a global rise in cyber-crime during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This week the Greek intelligence services announced they were recruiting 80 hackers to tackle cyber-attacks, while Israel is considered a global leader in combating cyber threats. In particular JVP has made a number of key investments and launched a range of companies in the field of cyber-security
Chairman and Founder of JVP Erel Margalit said, “Greece is an important country in our region and Israeli tech companies, along with Israeli workers, have a lot to offer in the field of cyber defense, and resilience in the face of growing threats. We are pleased to help Greece meet the cyber challenges it faces.”
