The Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses (A.K.S.S) launches an International Summer Music Academy, that will be held annually in the cosmopolitan island of Spetses, this year starting on the 16th of July. The Music Academy provides an educational platform for musical encounters, where young musicians across the globe can attend master classes by internationally renowned professors/ musicians in the luxurious facilities of the historical School of Spetses and its beautiful surrounding landscape. More than half of the admissions have already been filled by musicians / students from France, Switzerland, Brazil, USA, Cyprus, Israel, Serbia and Greece.. The International Music Academy of the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses (M.A.A.K.S.S) will launch on Saturday July1 6th, with the inaugural concert of its teachers, and masterclasses will follow for ten days. With the establishment of this ten-day International Academy, M.A.A.K.S.S aims to inspire the local community and the wider region to share the artistic vision (that of the Academy) that will promote the historic island, but also Greece, internationally.
In 2022 the Music Academy schedules master classes for Voice, Violin, Violoncello, Flute and Trombone. The premises of the school, naturally befitted with an exceptional heritage, will offer an ideal surrounding for the unique Music Academy in Greece.
MAAKSS will organize musical activities for the children of Spetses for free. Children from 6 to 12 will have the opportunity to attend music lessons (regardless of music knowledge). In addition the older children of the island will have the opportunity to attend the masterclasses for free.

It is important to highlight that due to the considerable efforts of the Academy’s professor Jamie Wiiliams; the student of MAAKSS in 2021 Christos Nikiforos was admitted to the Rostock University (Hochschule fur Musik und Theater) in Germany in the prestigious trombone class.
About the Master Classes
The Master Classes are open to young professionals and music students who are seeking to expand their performance experiences through creative personal growth. Active Participants will have the opportunity to get lessons with renowned professors, to perform with other talented musicians, to rehearse and give concerts in the beautiful surroundings of AKSS.The classes will include daily warm up, individual lessons, as well as group lessons on technical issues for the instrument/ voice.
Young Musicians Concerts
During the duration of the Academy, the participants in the Master Classes will have the opportunity to perform a series of concerts which will be held in the emblematic ancient theater which belongs to the Anargyrio and Korgialenio School, as well as in many other historical venues of the island.
Venue/Access to the Academy
Lessons take place at the historical Anargyrios and Korgialenios School (A.K.S.S.) an ideal location for M.A.A.K.S.S concerts. Located only 179 km from Athens, Spetses Island is easily accessible by bus or by ferry/high-speed hydrofoil from the port of Piraeus (appr. 2 hours). The unique premises of A.K.S.S. offer an ideal surrounding for a music academy. No private automobiles are allowed on the island within the town limits. The most common modes of transport are walking, horse-drawn carriages, bicycles, motorcycles, taxi and water taxis. The island is covered with pines and is famous for its clear waters. How to Apply
Applications are to be submitted to the Academy at www.maakss.com/admissions . After having completed and sent the electronic form, the Academy will contact participants and direct them to the rest of the registration process. In order to evaluate the admission of the participant, a video recording excerpt of their choice is required upon inscription.
