The long-awaited “Marry me”, except for being a very comforting & timeless rom-com, is definitely a fashion inspiration. Jennifer Lopez’s character, Kat Valdez appears with jaw-dropping outfits and delivers outré style moments on screen, wearing one fabulous designer look after the other. From her simplest and everyday outfit to the spectacular and swoonworthy wedding dress, JLo gives no-holds-barred glamor lessons on each scene.
Among our favorite appearances is the ethereal butter yellow set, making Jennifer Lopez look like she stepped out of an ancient Greek myth. But it was not the first time we saw this outfit worn by a celebrity. The beautiful wrap silk top with the matching skirt was for a long time one of the influencers’ favorites. The first to choose the incredible wrap top (in green) was Kourtney Kardashian in 2018 for a private getaway to the Turks and Caicos Islands, who had paired it with jeans and later the total set was worn by the model and fashion blogger Caroline Daur and the model Hilary Rhoda.

It is no coincidence that any woman we saw wearing this set looked as if she came out of Greek mythology. It is a creation of the Greek designer and former Vogue Hellas Editor-in-Chief, Elena Makri. From the first years of the launch of her brand, the Greek designer managed to travel her creations beyond the borders of her country and turn every woman who chose to wear them into modern goddesses. Her brand became globally synonymous with Greek elegance and managed to get in the covers of famous magazines, like Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Madame Figaro, Vogue Ukraine, Moda Operandi and Hello, capturing in every look the Greek simplicity & harmony, the rich culture and the genuine quality.

Every item of the brand, Elena Makri Mykonos, is handcrafted in Greece using organic materials of the highest quality. The brand’s trademark garment -used exclusively by them- is a unique and hard to find organic silk tulle, which accentuates the body in the same way as it worked for the iconic Greek goddesses depicted in statues and black figure vessels.
The deep-blue from Aegean seas and the light blue of the clean sky combined with the white of the ancient marbles, the light yellow of the rising sun and lush earthly colors inspired by the richness of the Mediterranean landscape dominate Elena Makri creations.

Except for chic monochrome options, Elena Makri borrowed exquisite patterns emerging from Minoan mosaics and Cycladic art and equated them with contemporary aesthetics, resulting in truly unique masterpieces for the wardrobe. Spirals and meanders, Doric and Aeolian rhythms, but also natural elements like flowers, applied to a rich selection of unique dresses, cover ups, shorts, blouses and pants, which can accompany our summer vacations.
