Every dish is prepared with care and served according to a zero food waste philosophy.A standout highlight is the trolley viennoiserie, a mobile display of irresistible, handcrafted sweet and savory pastries freshly baked in-house and served warm, inviting guests to select their favorites on the spot. The experience is complemented by single-origin espresso, botanical blends, and seasonal infusions, each prepared with the same attention to detail that defines the entire menu.

*The Art Collection of George, The Lobby Bar
The installation of authentic works of art by both acclaimed and emerging contemporary Greek artists has always been an integral element of all hotels of LAMPSA Hellenic Hotels S.A. , a practice established long before it became a global trend. Today, as art curation flourishes in hotels worldwide as a refined form of communication with guests, this tradition continues with renewed vitality. It is therefore only natural that the newly renovated George, The Lobby Bar, welcomes its visitors surrounded by exquisite examples of Modern Greek Art.
At the entrance, guests are greeted by the emblematic work Composition by Yiannis Moralis (1916–2009). Originally created in 1961 for the Parnitha Casino, this masterpiece is on temporary loan from Regency Casino Mont Parnes to the historic King George Hotel. Composition is the largest mural ever created by Moralis and serves as an iconic introduction to the bar’s artistic narrative. Nearby, a significant painting by Spyros Vassiliou (1903–1985), titled The Little Shop on Athinas Street, captivates with its atmospheric charm and offers an authentic visual stroll through the Athens of yesterday, within a hotel that itself embodies timeless elegance. Deeper inside the bar, visitors encounter a striking gypsum work by Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika (1906–1994), further enriching the dialogue between Greek artistic heritage and contemporary design.
The journey continues with works by contemporary artists Filippos Theodoridis (b. 1978), Tina Karageorgi (b. 1959), Peggy Kliafa (b. 1967), Heliodora Margellou (b. 1985), Sophia Petropoulou (b. 1964) and photographer Zetta Antsakli. Though diverse in style and medium, all share a common thread; a distinctly Greek artistic language with a global resonance. In the work of Heliodora Margellou we find references to traditional embroidery, while Peggy Kliafa draws inspiration from ancient Greek mosaics. Filippos Theodoridis explores ceramic art and Doric simplicity in his painting, and Zetta Antsakli captures the beauty of the Greek flag through poetic blue-and-white seascapes and skies. In the works of Sophia Petropoulou and Tina Karageorgi, Greek light itself becomes the central source of inspiration. The curation was overseen by Art Historian and independent Art Consultant Maria Migadi.
Laskaridis family’s deep love for art is evident throughout all its properties. At Athens Capital Hotel, the monumental Mappemonde by George Lappas takes center stage, while at the King George Hotel, the most recent addition is a spectacular bespoke 21m long glass installation, specially designed by Lasvit, a leading company in the design and construction of contemporary glass art installations. This dazzling installation was created to transform a simple lightwell into a visually captivating architectural feature; a goal achieved with brilliance.
